The Global Leaders’ Forum (GLF) confirms Enrico Bagnasco as Chair of the GLF Board

An executive meeting takes place in a high-rise office with large windows overlooking a city skyline and water. A man with curly grey hair and glasses, wearing a blue blazer and light blue shirt, is speaking mid-conversation. He sits on a blue upholstered couch next to another man in a dark suit. The CEO of Sparkle has been unanimously re-elected to lead the association for the next two years.

Following a formal Board vote, Enrico Bagnasco’s mandate has been extended for a further two-year term, running until May 2028.

Enrico assumed the Chair role in June 2025, successfully guiding the organisation through a transitional period in leadership which has now concluded. With the continued confidence and support of the GLF Board, he will now lead the organisation into its next phase of strategic development.

As Chair, Enrico will play a central role in advancing the Tomorrow Telco 2 strategy, built around the four core pillars of interoperability, innovation, trust, and people, while also shaping new topics focused on building reliable networks to support full AI deployment, automated API-based connectivity for best quality/price, and a trusted and fraud-free service environment.

The GLF is also pleased to announce the re-appointment of its incumbent Vice Chair, Nabil Baccouche, Group Chief Carrier and Wholesale Officer at e&, to serve the two-year term alongside Bagnasco.

Working closely with the GLF Board, Enrico and Nabil will help steer the GLF’s long-term vision on behalf of its 170+ members, representing many of the world’s leading global carriers and digital infrastructure providers.

“I would like to thank all GLF members for their renewed trust,” commented Enrico Bagnasco. “I take this vote as a strong endorsement to continue accelerating the deployment of advanced digital infrastructure and to promote a shared vision of international carriers as the ‘AI backbone’ of global connectivity, while also leveraging Artificial Intelligence as an enabler of next-generation services. I look forward to continuing this journey with Nabil, the Board, and our members as we lead the GLF into its next phase of growth and innovation. I also extend my sincere appreciation to the GLF staff for their daily commitment, which is essential to delivering the organisation’s objectives and mission.”

“I am honoured to continue leading the GLF alongside Enrico and the Board as our industry accelerates toward AI-driven connectivity and next-generation digital infrastructure,” said Nabil Baccouche, Group Chief Carrier and Wholesale Officer at e&. “As the digital ecosystem evolves rapidly with AI-driven transformation, the GLF has a critical role to play in strengthening trusted global connectivity, advancing industry collaboration, and fostering deeper cooperation across the international carrier community. I look forward to working closely with our members to help shape a more secure, intelligent, and resilient future for global telecommunications.”
